First Update | Version 0.2


Hi, Nox here. Just wanted to give a little briefing on the things that changed from 0.1 to 0.2.

CONTROLS

From a bit of investigation, I realized that a plane can also move along the Y axis while on the air (), something I thought wasnt possible before. So I made it possible to do both on the ground and air.

AESTHETICS

To avoid the world feeling too flat, and to help the player better identify its surroundings, I used shaders to give the terrain a change in color, based on a faces inclination. I did this using the normals from the terrain mesh; giving the more horizontal ones a green color that resembles grass, and the more vertical ones a brightish brown for a mix of rock and soil

PLANE´S SHADOW

And finally, this last change was also in hopes of helping the player to know how close they are to the ground. It was brought to my attention by a tester friend that they were not able to know if the were to close to the ground. After some hours of work, I managed to give the plane a fake shadow, so that this wouldnt be a problem anymore.
